Stories Out of Place

Stories Out of Place – was an Arts Council grant funded artists research and development project for Katy Doncaster and Claire Simpson to devise and develop work in response to two National Trust sites – Calke Abbey and Clumber Park in the spring and summer of 2007.

The project gave Claire and Katy dedicated time to research and explore the two sites, experimenting with ideas and devising new work.

There was collaboration with each other and with National Trust staff, volunteers and visitors to look at anecdotes, narratives, patterns and histories within the two sites.
